‌(I) Contact‌

These three types of sludge scrapers are all crucial components of wastewater treatment equipment, primarily used for collecting and removing sludge in sedimentation tanks to ensure their efficient operation. They all feature a key component, the sludge scraper blade, which collects sludge through its movement. In terms of working principles, these three types of sludge scrapers all rely on drive units to provide power and drive the sludge scraper blades to perform scraping operations.

‌(II) Difference‌

1.‌Transmission Mode and Structural Characteristics‌

Peripheral Drive Sludge Scraper: It adopts chain transmission, where the motor drives the chain to rotate, thereby driving the sludge scraper blade to move in a circular path along the tracks around the sedimentation tank. Its structure is relatively complex and occupies a larger area, but it has a wide range of applications and can adapt to sedimentation tanks of different shapes and sizes.

‌2. Working Principles and Performance‌

Peripheral Drive Sludge Scraper: The sludge scraper blade moves along the track, collecting sludge into the sludge collection pit at the center of the tank. Due to the special design of the scraper blade, it can adapt to sludge of different thicknesses, achieving good sludge scraping results.

Central Drive Sludge Scraper: The sludge scraper blade is rotated by a central shaft, scraping sludge towards the sludge collection pit at the center of the tank. Due to its simple structure, it is easy to maintain, has a low failure rate, and operates stably and reliably.

Traveling Sludge Scraper: The sludge scraper blade reciprocates under the drive of the traveling frame to perform sludge scraping operations. Due to the flexible movement of the traveling frame, it can adapt to sedimentation tanks of different shapes, improving sludge scraping efficiency.

‌3. Scope of Application, Advantages, and Disadvantages‌

Peripheral Drive Sludge Scraper: Suitable for large-scale wastewater treatment tanks, it has good sludge scraping results but has a relatively complex structure and higher maintenance costs.

Central Drive Sludge Scraper: Suitable for small and medium-sized wastewater treatment tanks, it has a simple structure and is easy to maintain, but has poor adaptability to large-scale sedimentation tanks.

Traveling Sludge Scraper: Suitable for horizontal flow sedimentation tanks and grit chambers, it can adapt to sedimentation tanks of different shapes and sizes, but has a relatively complex structure and requires certain installation and maintenance skills.‌
