Fecal Fermentation Tank: Unlocking The Green Password for Agricultural Waste

China produces more than 3.8 billion tons of livestock and poultry manure every year, which is equivalent to 2.7 tons of agricultural waste for every countrymen. The traditional open-air composting model is facing severe ecological challenges: it not only needs to occupy the equivalent of two storage sites in Shanghai, but also becomes the main force of methane emissions in agricultural source chamber gases with 32% of the total. More worrisome is that untreated feces continue to erode the ecological environment through surface runoff. The annual nitrogen and phosphorus pollution in the Yangtze River basin alone is up to 470000 tons. These eutrophic substances not only threaten the safety of drinking water for 380 million people, but also create shocking blue algae blooms in the Taihu Lake Lake, Chaohu Lake and other waters, forming a vicious circle of ecological governance.

The intelligent fermentation tank compresses the natural fermentation cycle from 90 days to 21 days through precise temperature control (55-65 ℃), quantitative aeration, and microbial community regulation technologies. At a 10000 head pig farm in Nantong, Jiangsu, the fermentation system processes 120 tons of manure per day and produces 360000 cubic meters of biogas annually, which is sufficient to meet the energy needs of the entire farm area. After testing, the COD value of the treated biogas slurry decreased from 12000mg/L to below 300mg/L, meeting the irrigation standards for farmland.

This technology creates triple ecological value: in terms of emissions reduction, a single tank can reduce 4200 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year; In terms of pollution control, it can intercept more than 95% of nitrogen and phosphorus elements; In terms of resource utilization, the produced bio organic fertilizer can reduce fertilizer usage by 40% and increase soil organic matter content by an average of 0.3 percentage points per year.

The latest generation of fermentation equipment integrates 5G IoT and AI algorithms, capable of real-time monitoring of over 3000 data points. In the project in Lankao, Henan, the intelligent system automatically adjusts the C/N ratio based on the raw material composition, resulting in an 18% increase in methane yield. Modular design allows for flexible scaling of processing scales, enabling standardized deployment for systems ranging from 50m ³ on family farms to 5000m ³ in group farming.

This technological innovation is restructuring the agricultural cycle system. In the tea industry belt of Anji, Zhejiang, biogas slurry is precisely transported through drip irrigation system, which increases the amino acid content of tea by 15% and increases the income by 1200 yuan per mu. The supporting carbon trading mechanism enables each fermentation tank to generate an annual carbon sequestration income of 42000 yuan.

Standing at the intersection of rural revitalization and the dual carbon goal, the manure fermentation tank has broken through the simple technical scope and evolved into a conversion hub connecting ecological value and economic value. When the last truck of organic fertilizer drove out of the treatment center, what we saw was not only the rebirth of waste, but also a green trajectory of traditional industries transitioning towards a circular economy. This ecological wisdom packaged in metal containers is painting a new coordinate for sustainable development in Chinese agriculture.
